Florence Swamy, Executive Director of the Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding, oversees program activities on Restorative Justice, Women’s Peacebuilding Leadership and Community Peacebuilding. These provide skills, capacity, and support to local communities (and other stakeholders including Government) so that they may engage with different stakeholders to bring about positive and lasting changes. Florence is particularly concerned about communities understanding and taking charge of the many service delivery and development issues they continue to face and to handle any conflicts that arise peacefully through dialogue, mediation and negotiation. This work fosters social cohesion as it revolves around naming and framing issues in communities where issues are numerous and complex.
Florence Swamy is a member of Women Mediators across the Commonwealth (WMC), a network hosted by Conciliation Resources which connects women with a broad range of mediation knowledge and experience.
