Florence Mpaayei

Florence Mpaayei is the senior advisor and coordinator of peace-building practice at Hekima Institute for Peace Studies and International Relations. A seasoned conflict transformation and peacebuilding professional, Florence has extensive experience in designing strategies for intervention and implementing peacebuilding programmes. She has worked in numerous countries building the capacities of peace actors and particularly women in dialogue, negotiation, mediation, and mentoring young women peacebuilders. Florence is the vice-chairperson of the Greater Horn Horizon Forum (a think-tank of scholars in Africa and the diaspora), a member of the Advisory Council of Life and Peace Institute, and a board member of the African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries.

Florence Mpaayei is a member of Women Mediators across the Commonwealth (WMC), a network hosted by Conciliation Resources which connects women with a broad range of mediation knowledge and experience.
