Laura joined Conciliation Resources in October 2019, and directs our cross-regional programmes: Smart Peace and the Women Mediators Across the Commonwealth Network. On Smart Peace, Laura leads the Consortium Management Team to oversee work across the programme, and ensure the integration of research and learning into implementation.
Prior to joining Conciliation Resources, she set up and managed violence reduction programmes with a focus on learning and innovation, for an international development consultancy. She managed teams in Nigeria and South Sudan and most recently established and led results management of a flagship DFID funded violence against women and girls programme in Malawi. She previously worked in DFID, to support adaptive programming and learning.
As well as an interest in embedding learning in peacebuilding, Laura has an interesting in tackling violence against women and girls and supporting the Women, Peace and Security agenda. She previously worked with grassroots UK-based charities to advocate for an inclusive approach and increase support for women's organisations. She holds a Masters from LSE on Comparative Politics- Democracy, for which she conducted research with women's organisations and wider civil society organisations in Thailand and Egypt on the changing nature of civil society-state relations.
