Conciliation Resources and the Berghof Research Center for Constructive Conflict Management organised a series of Georgian—Abkhaz dialogue workshops.
In this statement, Jonathan Cohen of Conciliation Resources and Norbert Ropers of the Berghof Center explain how the workshop in Potsdam, Germany brought together officials, politicians and civil society representatives from both sides of the Georgian—Abkhaz conflict so that they could have informal discussions about achieving a long-term settlement.
During the workshop, participants were joined by experts from Sri Lanka to help them learn about the similarities between the two conflicts and how certain issues have been dealt with in Sri Lanka.
