In the far north east of the DRC daily life is dominated by constant insecurity. This is a result of continuing attacks by the LRA, confrontations with a growing number of Mbororo cattle herders and banditry. This report analyses the challenges of protecting civilians in the LRA affected areas of DRC and suggests ways forward.

This report is part of a two stranded research project commissioned by Conciliation Resources on civilian protection and reintegration of abductees. The research is a result of continuing shortfalls in the efforts of local, national and international actors to protect civilians and reintegrate former LRA into their communities.
