We are looking for a Senior Development Manager to join the Fundraising and Communications team. The role would be ideal for a candidate who has solid experience in maintaining, growing and diversifying income streams in an NGO setting. The ideal candidate must excel in relationship management, proposal drafting and the ability to manage multi year grants from institutional donors.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this vital role is to lead on the effective development and implementation of Conciliation Resources’ strategy to maintain, grow and diversify our statutory income streams. The Senior Development Manager (the Manager) focuses on developing existing relationships with institutional donors, building new funding relationships, and providing coordination and guidance on funding applications across the organisation. The Manager is also responsible for growing Conciliation Resources’ portfolio of institutional partners, and overseeing initiatives to generate statutory income from new sources.
Knowledge and experience
- Substantial knowledge of developing and implementing strategies and plans to increase organisational statutory income, with demonstratable experience of identifying and progressing new funding opportunities.
- Solid experience of coordinating and drafting successful funding proposals to secure income from institutional donors.
- Significant donor management experience, including building relationships with strategic donor contacts, and a proven track record of managing multi-year grants from institutional donors.
- Excellent working knowledge of bi-lateral and multilateral donors (and trusts and foundations), in particular those that support the international development/peacebuilding sectors.
- Experience working in an NGO or similar, with knowledge of international development or peacebuilding.
- Experience securing or managing commercial contracts in the international development sector (desirable).
- Experience of working with grant management or CRM IT systems (desirable).

- Good coaching skills with the ability to pass knowledge onto, train and motivate others.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and coordinate processes involving multiple people/teams.
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
- Creative, flexible character with the ability to take the initiative.
- Commitment to Conciliation Resources’ goals and values, and an interest in international relations, politics and peace issues.
- Good computer and IT skills
