Participant reflections: Bong Montesa: What shall I write about?

Conciliation Resources coordinated an exchange between peace practitioners from Colombia and the Philippines in 2010.  After the visits, the participants wrote papers about the experience and possible ways forward in the struggle for peace.

Bong Montesa, a Filipino participant, wrote a poem entitled What shall I write about?.  It recalls impressions of Colombia with its deeply complex conflict, its rich but 'cursed' natural resources and its poverty.  

It also comments on how the government is disconnected from the core issues at play, such as internally displaced persons.
