In this interview, Diana Francis talks to Jonathan Cohen of Conciliation Resources and Vanessa Alexander about her latest book 'From Pacification to Peacebuilding'.

Inspired by people committed to non violence, she speaks about her experience of working 'on the ground' and challenges the idea that military power can do good.  

She also reflects on the 'professionalisation' of peacebuilding and on donor reluctance to fund projects approaching conflict in a non violent way due to the risks involved.

The interview also touches on the effect of the global economic crisis on peace work.
