UN Security Council Resolution 1325 supports the full participation of women and the integration of a gender perspective in all peace and security initiatives.

On its 10th anniversary, numerous organisations, including Conciliation Resources, outlined in this paper civil society’s suggestions for progress in/by Europe on women, peace and security issues.

The 10 suggestions include prioritising and strengthening the participation of women, creating monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and allocating more resources. Each recommendation is followed by an 'indicator of success' to make practical implementation of the recommendations easier.
