About the CCTS

The Committee for Conflict Transformation Support (CCTS) consisted of UK-based organizations and individuals who are working in partnership with local actors to prevent violence or transform social and political conflict. Committee members are involved in work both inside and outside of the UK.

CCTS closed the end of 2009. This website will remain active as an archive of CCTS publications.

Purpose of the CCTS

The CCTS created a forum for the discussion of practical experience, and the challenges and questions arising from it. Regular committee meetings were structured to enable members to reflect on their practice and develop critical awareness and understanding of their role. The meetings also provided a forum for exchanging information and contacts and sometimes the development of cooperative or complementary work.

The committee also organized seminars for the exploration of particular issues or areas of work. Seminars created an opportunity for more extended, in-depth discussion than is possible in committee meetings and papers were often commissioned in advance.

The CCTS also published a Review, containing, seminar papers and reports, and reflective articles, book reviews and other features related to conflict transformation. The reviews are all published online.
