Rosa Emilia Salamanca stresses that the urgency of ending Colombia’s 50-year-old war has lent a degree of “imperative legitimacy” to the official talks, but establishing broader legitimacy for the peace process can only come from a wider peace agenda that responds to the needs and interests of Colombian society. She argues that women's mobilisation and advocacy in Colombia has been key in pushing this agenda forward.
