Clarisse supports local peacebuilders in northern Kenya, specifically Local Peace Committees in Garissa County. She also supports peacebuilders working on the ONLF peace process in the Somali Regional State, including regional officials, youth, civil society and members of the ONLF. Whilst at Conciliation Resource, Clarisse also spent a year leading our work on Colombia. She worked with the Diaspora Woman initative and with Indigenous women’s organisations in Colombia. This has allowed Clarisse to draw parallels between the two different conflict contexts, and their peace processes.
Prior to joining Conciliation Resources in 2018, Clarisse worked as a Programme Manager at the British Embassy in Manila. She worked on three major funding streams, including supporting their work on the Mindanao Peace Process. Clarisse undertook her MA at the University of Asia and the Pacific in Political Economy. She specialised in International Relations and Development. For her thesis, she examined the role of multilateral institutions and their impact on economic reforms in non-bank financial institutions in the Philippines. Clarisse can speak English, Spanish and Tagalog.
