Monica is the Department Officer in our Europe-Asia Department, providing programmatic and operational support to the South Caucasus, South Asia and Cross - Regional Programmes.
Previously, Monica coordinated the Women Mediators across the Commonwealth network. She supported the inception and development of the network through organising member workshops, coordinating peer to peer learning and mentorship opportunities and supporting the network's global advocacy work. Most recently, Monica led on the development of the WMC database, a practical resource for the deployment of women mediators at the community, national and international levels.
Before joining Conciliation Resources Monica worked in Bosnia and Herzegovina for a youth peacebuilding organisation that worked to bridge interethnic divides. During her time there she conducted research into the impact of the organisation's projects on increasing tolerance in local youth. She also worked on a European network of academics and practitioners in peacebuilding education. Monica has a bachelor’s degree in Politics from the University of Glasgow, and a master’s degree in Global Conflict and Peace Processes from the University of Aberdeen where she specialised in diversity and inclusion within women’s participation in peacebuilding.
