Originally from Kenya, John is responsible for developing and managing Conciliation Resources’ peace building and conflict resolution work related to Bougainville in Papua New Guinea. Prior to joining Conciliation Resources, he was based in South Africa where he headed the peacebuilding programme at the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD). He has worked in several countries in Africa within the framework of the African Peace and Security Architecture, and has more than 15 years of experience in field-based conflict mapping and analysis; capacity building training in conflict management, grassroots and national dialogue, negotiation and mediation support capacity building; programme development and management; organisation capacity development and peacebuilding grants management. He is also a researcher with interest in international politics and its linkage to peace, security and development. John holds a PhD in Peace Studies from the University of New England in Australia.
