Whose peace is it anyway? Policy brief (Arabic)

This policy brief accompanies Conciliation Resources’ Accord publication 21 Whose peace is it anyway? connecting Somali and international peacemaking.

It examines the success and value of Somali entrepreneurship and local peace initiatives and outlines the challenges of international peace negotiations and appropriate statebuilding.  There is a need for accountability – not only of Somali governments but also of international intervention.

The brief sets out ten principles for effective Somali peacemaking, including reconciliation.  It draws conclusions for international policy and highlights the importance of supporting women's contributions.
