We are a team of over 80 peacebuilders dedicated to stopping violent conflict, bringing people together to find creative and sustainable paths to peace. Conciliation Resources provides practical professional support for community based and national organisations seeking to develop effective, non–violent responses to conflict or potential conflict.

About the role
We are seeking an inspirational, energetic, and talented leader who can bring a combination of strategic thinking and operational excellence. Leading an international department, you will be responsible for ensuring that Conciliation Resources has effective and equitable HR processes across its locations, and a strong and healthy organisational culture that prioritises staff well-being. Reporting to the Executive Director and as a key member of the leadership team, the Director of People and Culture will lead a newly created department and will be the global strategic leader within Conciliation Resources for a remit that covers HR, well-being, inclusion, and anti-racism.

You will contribute to Conciliation Resource’s strategic and operational HR objectives and provide the full range of HR guidance and advice to managers and employees. As the first point of contact for all employee related matters, you will ensure that all staff are aware of, and operating to, both our global and local HR policies and procedures, and that these are being implemented consistently across the organisation. The Director of People and Culture will be responsible for leading organisational efforts to foster an inclusive, supportive culture, in a way that is coherent but also takes proper account of the varied contexts in which Conciliation Resources works.

About you
You will bring a proven track record working as a senior strategic leader in a complex international organisation, with experience of advising on a broad spectrum of HR people, organisational and cultural issues, and a track record of developing and implementing strategy, leading on change and transformation programmes, and EDI. With knowledge of organisational development, change management, and experience of developing policies and systems across different national contexts, you will provide HR strategic and operational leadership across the organisation. You will hold membership of the CIPD (or equivalent) experience. A strong advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion, you will demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire a dispersed team as well as have highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills. Collaborative, calm and focussed in high-pressure situations, you will have strong emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion to make a difference to our work and our team.
