About
Kat French

Kat re-joined Conciliation Resources in August 2019 to support the Cross Regional Programme, in particular coordinating the organisation's involvement in the 'Including the Future' project on youth, gender and peacebuilding (funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency), and the EU's Transitional Justice Facility.  She has over seven years experience in civil society and non-profit organisations in the development field, working on issues including peacebuilding, women’s rights, and technology and development, including three years at Conciliation Resources between 2014 and 2017.

Prior to rejoining the organisation, Kat worked in Colombia for almost two and a half years with various local civil society organisations to support their conflict resolution and prevention work, including the Centro de Investigación y Educación Popular/Programa por la Paz (CINEP/PPP).  Kat is completing an MSc in International Development at Birkbeck, University of London, focussing on conflict, gender, and south-south cooperation, with a dissertation on the issue of gender within the reintegration of ex-combatants in Colombia. She also has a Bachelor's degree in Law and European Studies, focussing on human rights, from the University of Exeter and is fluent in Spanish.
