Fiji: Constitution Commission on civic education

This civic education leaflet from the Constitution Commission explains that their role is to ensure that the people of Fiji are able to participate in the process without any distinction based on race, gender, religion, age, occupation, status, residence, learning or disability.

It sets out the purpose of the constitution process, its principles and values, and includes how, where and when to lodge a submission.

Weaving consensus: The Papua New Guinea - Bougainville peace process

The peace agreement signed in 2001 on the island of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea (PNG), ended the most violent conflict in the South Pacific since World War II. Weaving consensus: the Papua New Guinea - Bougainville peace process (Accord issue 12, 2002) outlines an extraordinary array of creative initiatives and interventions that succeeded not only in ending the organised violence but brought together Bougainvillean society within a national framework. The process defined a negotiated settlement acceptable to all.

Bougainville peace process literacy kit

Bougainville literacy workers develop materials to promote conflict awareness

In this article, Clem McCartney describes the process carried out by literacy workers in Bougainville to create a critical literacy pack that would help residents, particularly those living in remote villages, to gain a better understanding of the conflict that was taking place and the ways that they could be involved in the peace process.
