Capacities for peace: Latin America

The European Union funded Capacities for Peace project, implemented by Conciliation Resources, Saferworld and their partners, supported local actors to enhance the effectiveness of early warning and early action in conflict-affected contexts. In Latin America, Conciliation Resources worked with local organisations in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Peru – countries that have suffered protracted armed conflicts – to support people to explore ways to strengthen peace processes and prevent violence.

Capacities for peace: West Africa

The European Union funded Capacities for Peace project, implemented by Conciliation Resources, Saferworld and their partners, supported local actors to enhance the effectiveness of early warning and early action in conflict-affected contexts. In the Mano River region, the project established District Platforms for Dialogue (DPDs) – multi-stakeholder platforms which aim to address violence and instability – along the Ivorian-Liberian border. In Nigeria, Conciliation Resources and partners supported marginalised local young people in Jos, Plateau State, to take on active roles in preventing violence and created space for dialogue on governance issues.
