In reviewing social changes in Azerbaijan and Armenian, Baghdasarian and Yunusov describe the ‘no war, no peace syndromes’ related to the current impasse. These include stalled democratic development, taboos against questioning militarism, and the internalisation of ‘victim’ and ‘victor’ identities.

При столь широко распространенном недоверии к процессу, вопрос в том,  может ли более инклюзивный и многосторонний подход преодолеть динамику поляризации и обеспечить лучшие шансы для достижения приемлемого для всех решения.

В своем обзоре социальных изменений в Азербайджане и Армении Багдасарян и Юнусов описывают синдромы «ни войны, ни мира», связанные со сложившейся тупиковой ситуацией. К ним относятся затянувшееся демократическое развитие, табу на дебаты о милитаризме и интернализация идентичностей «жертвы» и «победителя».
