This is Conciliation Resources' fifth and final annual report for the Department for International Development's Global and Transparency Fund. The report covers the period 1 April 2012 – 31 March 2013 and relates to Conciliation Resources' work to increase government accountability in conflict zones through public participation in policymaking. The regions the project focuses on are West Africa, Uganda/South Sudan, the Georgian–Abkhaz conflict region, and Fiji.

From conflict analysis to peacebuilding impact: Lessons from the People's Peacemaking Perspectives project

Funded by the European Commission, the People’s Peacemaking Perspectives (PPP) project was an 18-month joint initiative between Conciliation Resources and Saferworld.

At the culmination of the project a 38-page report and a 4-page executive summary highlighted the key lessons from this in-depth participatory research.

People's peacemaking perspectives: West Africa: Policy brief

In West Africa, conflicts have often had a sub-regional impact or spilled over to neighbouring countries through ethnic relations, allegiances and economic interests across borders, movements of fighters between conflicts, or the mass influx of refugees fleeing violence. Findings and recommendations in this brief aim to inform the EU's analysis and programming by presenting the reflections of local people and their state and non-state representatives on some of the key challenges facing countries in the region.

People's peacemaking perspectives: Liberia and Sierra Leone – Policy brief

The 1999 Lomé and the 2003 Accra agreements marked the official end to conflicts in Sierra Leone and Liberia respectively and the beginning of their long paths towards lasting peace. Both are making headway, but the underlying causes of conflict persist in both familiar and new forms. The findings presented in this policy brief represent a selection of the salient peacebuilding issues, which emerged from workshops and interviews in Sierra Leone and Liberia with civil society and community representatives and a range of other actors.

Articles also explore cross-border peacebuilding from global, systems analysis and legal perspectives, and focus on themes ranging from politics, governance and security, social and community relations, and trade and natural resources.
