Schlaining Process: Press release 28 April 2005

Conciliation Resources and the Berghof Research Center for Constructive Conflict Management have organised a series of Georgian—Abkhaz dialogue workshops.  

This press release explains how the workshop held near Oxford, England brought together individuals from both sides of the conflict so that they could have discussions about opportunities for, and obstacles to, peace.  Participants explored issues such as approaches to conflict and the impact of perceived behaviour on negotiations.  The exchanges which took place were made in an environment of mutual respect.

Sir Brian Fall, UK Special Representative for the South Caucasus, also made a valuable contribution to the workshop.
