Dialogue is crucial to resolving violent conflicts.  This extract from Conciliation Resources' annual review includes two case studies to demonstrate this.

In West Africa, Conciliation Resources facilitated discussions between civil society and security representatives, with the aim of improving cooperation.  Results were encouraging—participants gained a better understanding of security issues and positive public statements were made.

In London, Conciliation Resources arranged for Georgian and Abkhaz youth to meet.  Sterotypes were broken and much needed debates were had.  The group intend to work together again in the future.
