This report by Conciliation Resources summarises discussions at a seminar it organised with the University of London and Kacoke Madit.  The panel of experts included the Ugandan High Commissioner.

Following the publication of Conciliation Resources' Accord issue 11, participants spoke about key lessons to learn for peacebuilding in northern Uganda.  For example, there was a need to address the poor understanding of parties' motives and to recognise the roles played by religious leaders, elders and women.

Topics such as addressing economic support for the war, the readiness of parties to work towards peace, the effectiveness of the Amnesty Act and the impact of events of September 11th, were also discussed.
