This policy brief accompanies Conciliation Resources’ Accord publication 20, Reconfiguring politics: The Indonesia – Aceh peace process.

The brief gives an overview of the Indonesia-Aceh peace process, including the context of the conflict and the negotiation processes.  It sets out key policy conclusions, such as the necessity of preparing for negotiations even when prospects seem remote.

It contains a table entitled Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding: process, progress and dilemmas which summarises progress on issues addressed in the Memorandum, such as political participation and the economy.
