Conciliation Resources arranged four joint study visits to the UK and Ireland between May 2002 and January 2003 for different groups from the Georgian—Abkhaz conflict.  With a particular focus on Northern Ireland, the aim of the visits was to explore how ethnic diversity has been managed in the UK and also to provide a space for dialogue within each group.

The participants ranged from politicians and officials to civil activists and each visit had a different theme (economic, security, cultural or political). In this report, Clem McCartney, Jonathan Cohen and Rachel Clogg of Conciliation Resources summarise the main observations made during the visits and also provide some useful background into the organisation of the visits.
