Caucasus
- Absence of will: a journey through Georgia’s conflict zones (2009) This film by our partners Studio Re is set against the background of the August 2008 conflict in South Ossetia. It follows two young Georgian students searching for answers to why their country went to war in the early 1990s, and why a peace deal remains elusive. Available as a DVD and on YouTube.
- Dialogue through film DVD (2008)
A selection of short films from a unique project on the conflict over Nagorny Karabakh. Made by young Karabakh Armenians and Azerbaijanis, these films chart the hopes, fears and humour of people living with the consequences of conflict. Abkhazia – one side of a conflict (2004) - a Georgian journalist’s view on life and attitudes in Abkhazia a decade after the year-long war between Georgia and Abkhazia.
Ten years on and still waiting (2004) - offers an Abkhaz perspective on Georgia and the aspirations of its people, including those displaced by the conflict.
Karabakh (2004) - a film made jointly by Georgian and Abkhaz journalists about the conflict over the territory of Nagorny Karabakh.
Northern Ireland experience (2003) - a film made jointly by Georgian and Abkhaz journalists about the conflict in Northern Ireland.
Hoping for peace (2002) - focuses on the impact of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict on the residents of the Gal/i region.
Uganda
- Monitoring the return of internally displaced people (IDPs) in northern Uganda (2008) was produced by the Social Communications Department of Gulu Archdiocese, Uganda. This 20-minute video gives an update on challenges facing people leaving the large IDP camps for smaller resettlement camps or their original homesteads. Watch the film or read the transcript.
- Local voices on 'decongestion' and the return of internally displaced people in northern Uganda (2007) was produced by the Social Communications Department of Gulu Archdiocese, Uganda. This 15-minute video looks at local attitudes towards moving people from the large camps for internally displaced people to the smaller resettlement camps closer to their original homesteads. - Local voices on justice in Uganda (2006) A 20-minute video by Constance Abwoyo and Simon Olweny of the Social Communications Department of Gulu Archdiocese.
