Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development (CIPDD)

CIPDD is a Tbilisi-based public policy think tank founded in 1992. It advocates for the development of a vibrant and diverse civil society, effective and accountable public institutions based on the rule of law and an integrated political community that respects and preserves ethnic and religious identities in Georgia.

Its main activities include public policy research that forms the basis for debate – professional, political or public – as well as advocacy, lobbying and training.

Caucasus House

Caucasus House is a cultural and educational organisation based in Tbilisi, which aims to build links and promote tolerance and understanding between Georgia’s broad range of national minority communities. It hosts regular debates where young Georgians discuss issues related to conflict transformation and civic participation.

Association of Women of Abkhazia (AZhA)

AZhA has worked to increase women’s involvement in Abkhazia’s social and political life since 1999. Its resource centre in Sukhum/i provides women with reference materials and consultations on themes such as political participation, leadership, small business development, women’s rights and NGO sector support.

AZhA publishes a monthly newsletter People and Times in close collaboration with correspondents in the regions of eastern Abkhazia, including Gal/i.

Abrec (Abkhazia Reconsidered)

Abrec is a group of filmmakers in Sukhum/i who began to capture snapshot impressions of Abkhazia and its people in 2009. These short films are available online and some are published on Go Group’s Eyewitness site.

Stepanakert Press Club (SPC)

SPC has for many years been a centre for media freedom in the unrecognised republic of Nagorny Karabakh. It published the popular independent newspaper Demo between 2004–08, and now publishes the analytical journal Analyticon in Armenian, Russian and English. A key partner in the Dialogue Through Film project, SPC also implements outreach work across Nagorny Karabakh through film screenings and public debates.

Internews Azerbaijan

Internews Azerbaijan has developed comparative learning about conflict through the medium of film for many years, partnering with Internews Armenia to make films about Cyprus, Kosovo and other conflicts. As Conciliation Resources' long-term partner in Azerbaijan, Internews Azerbaijan has put key issues into the public domain in different formats, such as a radio series highlighting the problems of displaced people, and the Dialogue Through Film project.

Internews Armenia

Internews Armenia is a Yerevan-based NGO working since 1995 to promote freedom of expression through training, advocacy and a focus on journalists’ rights. It also aims to raise public awareness of key social and political issues.

Internews Armenia has been central to Conciliation Resources’ Dialogue Through Film project, which has brought young Azerbaijanis and Karabakh Armenians together to make films, jointly and separately, about the conflict.

Atinati

Based in Zugdidi in western Georgia where many people displaced by the 1992–93 war now live, Atinati runs projects on education, civil society development and support for socially vulnerable groups. Atinati’s regional radio station broadcasts news, documentaries, debates and entertainment programmes to a wide audience. A key partner in our radio diary series, and a member of the Synergy network, Atinati has worked with Conciliation Resources to produce interactive radio programmes that involve exchange across the conflict divide.
