Our partners in West Africa
We work with partner organizations in local communities, at national level and across the Mano River sub-region of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea to strengthen their capacity for conflict resolution, improve people’s access to justice and their involvement in local governance.
Actions for Genuine Democratic Alternatives (AGENDA)
AGENDA is a collaboration of local and international activists working to raise citizens' involvement in Liberia's governance. It puts citizens at the heart of public policymaking by creating a platform for the views of citizens, businesses and institutions in a way that informs, influences and guides policy. The AGENDA team use modern techniques and technology to carry out research, inform people and advocate for greater accountability, transparency and good governance. This is important because without information people lack the ability to contribute meaningfully to national development. Their work with Conciliation Resources focuses on Grand Cape Mount and Lofa counties.
Liberia Democratic Institute (LDI)
LDI is a non-partisan pro-democracy and policy advocacy organization that believes good governance in Liberia cannot be achieved without also tackling the country's deep poverty crisis. Its programmes thus cover a wide range of issues: law reform and decentralization, gender and development, conflict and security, economic justice, community governance and advocacy, outreach and citizens' participation. Our partnership focuses on increasing the accountability and transparency of government by improving citizens' access to its structures. LDI's work with Conciliation Resources is enabling marginalized groups and communities to claim a stake in policy formulation and democratic processes in Grand Cape Mount and Lofa counties.

Search for Common Ground (SFCG) - Talking Drum Studios (TDS)
SFCG began work in West Africa in 1997 with the creation of a radio programme production studio in Liberia called Talking Drum Studio (TDS). The aim was to support the peace process and national elections. Building on the success of the Liberia program, a TDS studio was set up in Sierra Leone in 2000 in response to the civil war. SFCG are experienced in developing media programmes that engage local populations in the production and distribution of radio programs and have a strong reputation for community-rooted and innovative initiatives.

Youth in Progress
Conciliation Resources has supported young people and youth organizations in eastern Sierra Leone since 2001 to develop their abilities to deal with conflict without resorting to violence and to engage constructively with their communities. We work with the Ministry of Youth and local authorities to improve understanding of young people’s potential role in the country’s development and recovery from war.
