Supporting peace processes
Policy briefs
Even though more wars have ended through negotiated agreements than military victory since the 1990s, for many governments the question of 'all-out war' versus a political settlement remains open.
Conciliation Resources' latest policy brief Ending war: the need for peace process support strategies (November 2009) argues that governments and international organizations need to give greater priority to supporting peace processes and place them at the heart of their overall strategy for a country or region in conflict.
The Ending war policy brief is also available in French. Mettre fin à la guerre: les stratégies de soutien aux processus de paix.

Our comparative learning project also produces materials to inform and influence peacemaking policy. We create opportunities for peacemakers in Colombia and the Philippines to learn about peace processes in other countries. We publish insights from this work and share them with policymakers.
