Women at grassroots workshop

Women at a CCF grassroots education workshop in Naloto Village, Tailevu

Conciliation Resources works with three different partner organizations in Fiji, providing support advice and training.

The Citizens’ Constitutional Forum

The Citizen's Constitutional Forum (CCF) is a not-for-profit organization, based in Fiji’s capital city Suva. It is governed by a voluntary board of directors through its executive director Reverend Akuila Yabaki.

CCF has a diverse advocacy and education approach, with five distinct programme platforms: community education, youth, legal, communications and research. They work with, among others, rural communities, young people, academics and national and international institutions. Their current programme has three primary themes:

• Good Governance, Citizenship and Human Rights Education
• Facilitating a Pathway to Sustainable Democracy
• Countering Racism and Promoting Multiculturalism

Conciliation Resources, through its over 13-year partnership, provides CCF with extensive programme advice and support, and organizational and financial management advice.

The Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding

The Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding (PCP) is a small and growing not-for-profit organization, based in Suva, offering a range of tailor made services in areas such as peacebuilding, dialogue facilitation, and conflict analysis and prevention. PCP works with the private, non-government and civil society sectors as well as with government, intergovernmental, regional and international institutions.

Conciliation Resources provides PCP with support and advice for specific training programmes for members of Fiji’s security forces, government and civil society in dialogue and conflict analysis and resolution.

Dialogue Fiji

Dialogue Fiji is an initiative, launched in early 2009, with the objective of organizing and facilitating dialogue across Fiji’s ethnic and social divisions. Dialogue Fiji is directed by a committee consisting of representatives from broader civil society. The initiative organizes local and national dialogue events with participants including local NGOs, faith-based organizations, Fiji’s government and traditional leaders.

From inception Conciliation Resources has provided Dialogue Fiji with considerable advice and support, this support continues as the initiative builds momentum towards inclusive and non-violent solutions to Fiji’s social and political problems.
