Partners and events The Liberia project was the Accord Series’ pilot publication and coincided with the development of Conciliation Resources’ West Africa programme. In producing The Liberian peace process: 1990–1996 (Accord Issue 1, 1996), we worked closely with members of Britain’s West African diaspora, most notably Max Ahmadu Sesay of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Staffordshire University. The International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) and the International Peace Bureau, Geneva both assisted by giving their views on the project, and the Samuel Rubin Foundation gave seed funding. Accord editor Jeremy Armon took part in a meeting in Monrovia, January 1997 providing resources for the drafting of an inter-NGO framework for humanitarian intervention in Liberia.
