Partners The Centre for Research and Popular Education (Centro de Investigacion y Educacion Popular - CINEP) was founded in 1962 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) to work towards building a more humane and egalitarian society. Through analysis of the problems facing Colombia, CINEP focuses on building a holistic peace proposal. It carries out investigations on the different types of violence, current social movements, poverty and development, and social media. Its analysis informs regional development in areas with displaced people, education processes in conflict zones, psychosocial support for displaced people, and continual follow-up to human rights and international humanitarian law violations. CINEP In 2005 Programa por la Paz developed a Spanish language education pack [pdf] on ‘public participation in peace processes’, with support from Conciliation Resources. The pack draws on the Accord publication to provide teaching materials for community-based learning about opportunities for participation. The Institute for Development and Peace Studies (INDEPAZ) is a non-governmental organization that works to encourage a climate of reconciliation, dialogue, non-violence and respect for human life, which will contribute to peacebuilding in Colombia. INDEPAZ co-published a Spanish-language supplement to the Accord publication, containing interviews with key people from across Colombia’s political spectrum, examining lessons learned from past peace negotiations. INDEPAZ The Bradford University Department of Peace Studies is one of the leading centres for politics and international studies in the UK. It has a world-class reputation for peace research with significant impact on policymakers. Three interlinked groups develop the department’s research and teaching in the areas of international security, conflict resolution, and politics and social change. Staff also work as advisers and consultants to government departments and NGOs worldwide. Department of Peace Studies
