Events

Conciliation Resources (CR) brought its work on Colombia’s peace processes to a wider audience through several events from 2003–2005:

• an event at CINEP’s offices in Bogotá explored some of the lessons emerging from the Accord project with members of civil society, the international diplomatic community and representatives from the government

• an event at the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berne

• CR and CINEP supplied photos for a two-month exhibition on Colombia at Cambridge University, organized by the Centre of Latin American Studies and Colombian group.  Accord issue editor, Mauricio García Durán also contributed to the University’s lecture series, presenting a paper on ‘Possibilities for peace in Colombia’.

We also contributed to efforts to learn lessons from and explore challenges related to peacemaking and peacebuilding in Colombia.

• CR led workshops in Bogota and Cali in June 2003 for civil society groups involved in peace initiatives to share the findings of Accord issue 13, Owning the process: public participation in peacemaking.

• Accord Programme Manager, Celia McKeon presented a paper at an international conference on ‘Post-conflict development and peace’, organized by the Department of Political Science at the Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia in November 2003.
