We have been supporting religious leaders in the Central African Republic to support local interfaith “peace committees”. To mark the formal beginning of the Interfaith Peace Platform, Conciliation Resources has signed a partnership agreement with the religious leaders of the three denominations to help create a national secretariat in Bangui.
Letter: Effective targets to promote sustainable peace News
To address the underlying drivers of conflict, our definition of peace needs to more than the absence of violence. Conciliation Resources and 32 other civil society groups have sent a joint letter to the UN’s Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals addressing this and identifying effective targets to promote sustainable peace.

Gender is key to understanding how women and men experience conflict.

We work to increase the recognition of women’s contributions to peacebuilding, promote more inclusive peace processes to ensure broad public participation including that of women, and design more gender-sensitive approaches to peacebuilding.
