Harim Peiris
Harim Peiris served as an advisor to the President of Sri Lanka (2001-05), as a member of the Government’s negotiation team with the LTTE after the tsunami and as Director General for Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation in the conflict-affected North and East. He is currently attached to the Council for Public Policy in Colombo.

Jonathan Cohen, Director of Programmes
Jonathan joined Conciliation Resources in December 1997 and developed the Caucasus programme. In September 2008 he became Director of Programmes overseeing all Conciliation Resources’ regional programmes.
Previously he was deputy director of the Foundation on Inter-Ethnic Relations in The Hague, working with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. Before that he worked for International Alert and the Peace Research Institute Oslo.
He has been a board member of the DFID / CAF Partnerships in the Non-Profit Sector Programme for Russia; acted as a consultant to United Nations Volunteers, the Heinrich Boell Foundation, the Berghof Foundation and taught at the London School of Economics. Jonathan has degrees from the universities of Bristol, London and Oxford. Languages other than English: Russian.

Liana Kvarchelia is a community facilitator in Abkhazia. She has previously worked with the Centre for Humanitarian Programmes, a Sukhum-based NGO working on projects related to conflict resolution, and has extensive experience of participation in meetings with NGO representatives from Georgia.
Mareike Schomerus
Mareike Schomerus is a fellow at the London School of Economics' Development Studies Institute (DESTIN). She works on violent conflict, peacebuilding and human security and has written extensively on war and peace in Uganda and Sudan. Prior to and during the Juba talks, she conducted fieldwork with the Lord’s Resistance Army. Her research also includes the impact of Uganda’s conflict on Sudanese civilians.

Roelf Meyer was the National Party government’s chief negotiator during the transition from apartheid. After 1994 he continued in the portfolio of Constitutional Affairs in the Cabinet of President Nelson Mandela. He is now a business person and a consultant on peace processes. Teresa Whitfield
Teresa Whitfield is a Senior Advisor and Fellow at Center on International Cooperation at New York University and Senior Adviser to the Geneva-based Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, responsible for liaison with the United Nations.
Teresa has published widely on the dynamics of internal conflict, peacemaking and United Nations peace operations. In March 2010 she was awarded a grant by the United States Institute of Peace to research and write a book examining efforts to end the Basque conflict in Spain.
Previously Teresa was Director of the Conflict Prevention and Peace Forum. She has also worked as an official within the UN’s Department of Political Affairs.
