Yasmin Jusu-Sheriff looks at women’s groups formed in a context where women are excluded from politics and public decision-making. Focusing on the Women’s Forum and the Women’s Movement for Peace, she finds that although their influence on the conflict and peace process was not strong, women succeeded in creating an independent voice that articulated a non-partisan, female perspective on a wide range of fundamental issues.
